The 2017 MLB Season Set. The ball was flying out of the yard in record numbers throughout the 2017 Major League Baseball Season. 6105 Home Runs were hit, led by Giancarlo Stanton who hit a massive 59 Bombs for the Miami Marlins! All rise for the Yankees impressive Rookie Aaron Judge who smoked 52 Dingers! J.D. Martinez hit a combined 45 Long Balls between Detroit and Arizona. Judge broke the American League Rookie Home Run record and Cody Bellinger broke the National League Home Run Record with 39. Both of those impressive Rookies led their teams to post season berths. Bellinger was a huge catalyst for the Dodgers who went on historic winning runs throughout the season. The Cleveland Indians won a record 22 games in a row. The Dodgers had the best record in baseball at 104-58 and the Indians paced the AL at 102-60. There were other great seasons at the plate, led by Jose Altuve and Charlie Blackmon. The Dodgers, Nationals and Cubs won their divisions again and the Diamondbacks and Rockies earned Wild Card berths. Boston and Cleveland won their divisions again and the Houston Astros won the AL West. The young and exciting Minnesota Twins joined the Yankees with AL Wild Card berths. The Milwaukee Brewers were a surprise team led by their new acquisition, Eric Thames. Pitchers did suffer with the increased offense as not one hurler was able to win 20 games. Cory Kluber led the majors with a 2.25 ERA and Chris Sale struck out 308 batters for the Red Sox. The regular season was great but the post season story will still be written.
