The Oakland Raiders return to the Super Bowl for the first time since Super Bowl II to face the Minnesota Vikings who make their third Super Bowl appearance in four years. After losing three Super Bowls, the Vikings looked to go all the way in '76. The NFC was tough, however, with the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Rams and a surprising St. Louis Cardinals team. The Vikings posted the best record in the NFC and beat the Redskins and the Rams to advance to the Super Bowl. The Oakland Raiders posted the best record in 1976 with a 13-1 finish. There was plenty of competition from the Baltimore Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals. The Raiders beat the Patriots in a tough game and took care of the defending champion Steelers to book their spot in Super Bowl XI. The Raiders beat the Vikings 32-14 to earn their first Super Bowl win. Bert Jones led the league in passing and was named the NFL MVP. O.J. Simpson's knees were still fine and he led the NFL in rushing. The Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were expansion teams but the Seahawks only managed two wins and the Bucs went 0 and 14. Great names and great defense in 1976. Relive it all with Sideline
